A little message for your Tuesday

I don’t want to share too many of these pics too soon because I really want to make a cute little cover for my summer video out of them, however, I decided to share just this one cause A. it’s the new Instagram prof pic, B. I had a little mantra/saying/little message I wanted to share, and C. I feel like my emotions when I saw this pic went really well with what I wanted to share.

I was just on zoom #5 of the day LOL and it was like a virtual hike through my college’s natural lands. I had to go on this zoom for credit towards one of my scholarships. I definitely wasn’t dreading it, but I also was just not feeling one more zoom today.

So, then I get on, and I realize it’s led by one of the professors at my college that I really love. And along with him are a few students who I’ve met before.

It’s going well, I’m doing a little homework as I watch. I’ve got some goldfish on the side.

Then he’s like, “okay, we’re going to do some mindfulness meditation, lay down”.

So, I do just that. I lay down. He guides us through relaxing each of our body parts, literally from our heads to our toes.

I’m so relaxed at this point, feeling really grateful for the fact that after this long day where I’ve got even more to do after this meeting, I got this nice little break. I’m so at peace, soaking this all in.

So, then the professor’s just talking all about the sky and the atmosphere and the galaxy, and all of the stars above us and how miraculous it is that we were placed on this Earth when we are. He even said something about how there’s more ants in weight, than there are humans here (don’t quote me on that one).

And then he goes into how special each moment is. And this is what got me.

He said basically, that at the time we’re at in life, so for me college, maybe for you that’s high school, or young adulthood or even adulthood, we are so focused on the good to come, or the incredible life we want to make for ourselves that at times you might miss the good going on right now.

And yeah, I know it’s super weird right now, but like for me I was just thinking about the fact that I get to be here, on the couch every night with my little brother that’s not going to be 11 forever. Or the fact that, I don’t know, I’m probably going to sound crazy for a second, but the fact that I get to spend a little bit more time in my childhood room that I love.

But regardless, I was grateful to hear that and be reminded of that. And also, it was just kind of funny that something I wasn’t totally into attending turned out to be so impactful just because of this professor’s calming words.

So, I don’t know, it’s up to you, but maybe take a second for yourself today. Lay down and relax your body. Remember how small we are in this big big world, and how in the grand scheme of things, maybe that something bothering you just isn’t that important. Or if there is something really significant in your life causing you lots of stress or sadness or anything, maybe just give yourself a second to lay down, relax, and not think.

You guys are always in my thoughts and I really hope you guys have nothing but love in your life.

And maybe, if you’re willing, share with me something good that happened in your day or anything positive like that... I’d love to hear it.
